Van Carpenter is an experienced business consultant, coach, and an energetic, entertaining, trainer and speaker in the areas of innovation, communications, and marketing for start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. With global corporate, governmental, agency, and entrepreneurial experience, Van brings a unique 30+ year business perspective on effective communications, marketing strategy and innovation for all sized companies and individuals.
Corporate success in marketing strategy, channel development and communications at IBM, Fujitsu and Cooper Industries built Van’s knowledge of international trends and cultural influences on customers and marketing strategy and techniques. In his agency and public relations roles, Van prepared businesses of all size for success through effective strategic planning, market research, and targeted implementation of solutions to sell their products and services and serve their community. His innovative promotion and public relations capabilities have assisted corporations and smaller companies alike in establishing and maintaining their best image and marketability. As an entrepreneur founding “Biz Doctor”, a business coaching practice, Van assessed, consulted and coached companies and non-profits. His expertise and innovative approach helped to identify key issues, develop innovative solutions to win customers and build relationships, and to determine the best direction for their unique business success.
Van holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Masters Degree in Mass Communications & Media Arts from the University of South Carolina. He earned an APR Accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America and was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by the Governor of North Carolina for his work promoting the NC Information Highway Broadband Communications Project. He is active in his church and participates on and counsels numerous civic and corporate Boards. Van is also proud to be a retired Commander in the Naval Reserve. His business philosophy is to keep learning, keep developing ideas, keep systems simple and keep work fun!
